The Town of Blacksburg’s Utility Billing Services establishes new water and sewer accounts. The Sanitation Authority can be reached at 54. The town owns 16 pumping stations and 145 miles of sanitary sewer. Total capacity is nine million gallons per day, with approximately 5.8 million gallons per day being treated. The Sanitation Authority operates one treatment plant at Stroubles Creek. The town is also a member of the Blacksburg-VPI Sanitation Authority. The Water Authority can be reached at 54. Blacksburg has 177 miles of water mains, four pump stations and five water tanks, with a total capacity of 5.5 million gallons. Average daily consumption is approximately seven million gallons for the system, and the town's daily consumption is 2.3 million gallons. The Water Authority currently has the capacity to supply 12.4 million gallons per day.
